Process:

Through NSDL EASIEST website

  • The Corporate Assessee will access the NSDL EASIEST website (https://cbec.nsdl.com/EST/JSP/security/EasiestHomePage.jsp) and enter the 15 digit Assessee Code allotted by the jurisdictional Commissionerate.
  • There will be an online check on the validity of the Assessee Code entered. If the Assessee code is valid, then corresponding assessee details like Name, Address, Commissionerate code, etc. as present in the Assessee Code Master will be displayed.
  • Based on the Assessee Code, the duty/ tax i.e. excise duty or service tax to be paid will be automatically selected. The Corporate Assessee is required to select the type of duty / tax to be paid by clicking on 'Select Accounting Codes for Excise' or 'Select Accounting Codes for Service Tax' depending on the type of duty/ tax to be paid. At a time the assessee can select upto six Accounting Codes.
  • The Corporate Assessee will also select Axis Bank from the drop down menu indicating the names of various authorised Banks offering e-Payment Facility. On submission of data entered, a confirmation screen will be displayed. If the Corporate Assessee confirms the data entered in the screen, it will be directed to the Internet Banking module of Axis Bank and the Challan details entered by the taxpayer will also be transmitted to the Bank.
  • The Corporate Assessee will login to the Internet Banking module (iConnect) with the Corporate ID/ User Id/ Password provided by the Bank for Internet Banking purpose and enter payment details at the bank site. After checking/ verifying the correctness of the particulars, the Corporate Assessee will complete the transaction using the Corporate Id, User Id & Transaction Password issued by the Bank.
  • On successful payment, a Cyber Receipt (a duly filled Challan) will be displayed containing CIN, payment details and Bank name through which e-payment has been made. This counterfoil is proof of payment being made.

Retail Customers

Process:

  • The Taxpayer will access the NSDL EASIEST website (https://cbec.nsdl.com/EST/JSP/security/EasiestHomePage.jsp) and enter the 15 digit Assessee Code allotted by the jurisdictional Commissionerate.
  • There will be an online check on the validity of the Assessee Code entered. If the Assessee code is valid, then corresponding assessee details like Name, Address, Commissionerate code, etc. as present in the Assessee Code Master will be displayed.
  • Based on the Assessee Code, the duty/ tax i.e. excise duty or service tax to be paid will be automatically selected. Availability of the Facility:

    • To the Customer having a Current Account/ Savings Account/ CC Account with any Branch of the Bank.
    • To the Customer registered for Internet Banking Facility (iConnect) of the Bank with Funds Transfer Facility.
    • For Payment of Central Excise & Service Tax by Assessees registered with CBEC Commissionerates in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore & Hyderabad.

Payment Timings:

    • This is a 24x7x365 facility and as such customers can make payment any time of day.
    • All payments effected up to 8 p.m. will be accounted for the same day and all payments effected after 8 p.m. and on Holidays/ Sundays will be accounted for on the next working day.
