e-Payment Facility for Online Payment of Central Excise and Service Tax (CBEC)

Axis Bank offers the e-Payment Facility for online payment of Central Excise & Service Tax on the Internet by its customers. The Assessees/ Taxpayers maintaining Accounts with the Bank and registered in the Commissionerates in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore & Hyderabad can now have the convenience of paying their Central Excise & Service Tax from the Desktop.

The Assessees can pay their Central Excise & Service Tax through Corporate iConnect (Internet Banking) facility, which provides higher transaction security and maker/ checker feature. Under this option the Assessees have to do a one-time registration with their PAN/ TAN based 15 digit Assessee Code and upon confirmation of the same, they can make payments as also get online acknowledgement of their payment by way of a Cyber Receipt in the form of Challan including Challan Identification Number (CIN).

The broad features of our Bank's e-Payment Facility towards online payment of Central Excise & Service Tax by the registered Assessees is as under:

Process

Registration:

  • The assessees having their Current Account along with Corporate iConnect facility will be required to do a one-time registration in Corporate iConnect for CBEC e-Payments with PAN/ TAN based 15 digit Assessee Code.
  • At the time of registration itself, based on the details provided by the assessees, the PAN/ TAN based 15 digit Assessee Code will be verified in the Bank?s database (as per details provided by NSDL) and a confirmation for the same would be provided at that time itself, after which the assessees can start making payments.

Payments:

  • For payments, the assessees have to login in to Corporate iConnect with their Corporate ID, User ID & Password and select the CBEC e-Payment option.
  • The various Challan templates have been created within Corporate iConnect as per the CBEC guidelines.
  • The assessees have to select the relevant Challan applicable for their payment and enter all the required details such as Tax Major Head, Minor Head, Assessment Year, Amount with break-up.
  • After ensuring the correctness of all the details entered in the Challan the assessees can authorise the payment using the Enterer-Approver/ Maker-Checker feature.
  • Thereafter, on execution of the payment, the assessees will be able to download/ print a Cyber Receipt in the form of Challan including Challan Identification Number (CIN) for their reference and record.*
* Henceforth, no signed copy of the physical Challan will be couriered to the assessees by the Nodal Branch.

Availability of the Facility:

  • To the Customer having a Current Account with any Branch of the Bank, paying Central Excise & Service Tax in the Commissionerates where the Bank is authorised i.e. at Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
  • To the Customer registered for Corporate iConnect Facility of the Bank with Funds Transfer Facility.
  • To the Customer who has the PAN/ TAN based 15 digit Assessee Code and registers with the Bank for e-Payment Facility through Corporate iConnect.

Payment Timings:

  • This is a 24*7*365 facility and as such customers can make payment any time of the day.
  • All payments effected up to 8 p.m. will be accounted for the same day and all payments effected after 8 p.m. and on holidays will be accounted for on the next working day.
