Axis Bank was the First Private Sector Bank to be authorised by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Government of India for collecting Commercial Taxes on behalf of State Government in Andhra Pradesh in July 2001.
The Bank is presently authorised by RBI and the respective State Governments for handling Collection of Commercial Taxes or Sales Tax or VAT in the following 7 States and Union Territories:
- Andhra Pradesh
- Gujarat
- Chhattisgarh
- NCT of Delhi
- Uttaranchal
- Chandigarh UT
- Punjab
- Challan Pick-up and Delivery Facility

- Payment of Stamp Duty
The Bank has been authorised by Government of Gujarat, Govt. of Maharashtra and Govt. of Rajasthan for handling collection of stamp duty through franking at the designated branches in the respective states. Now, any citizen can pay stamp duty in these states (presently at Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai or Thane, Jaipur and Jodhpur) conveniently with Axis Bank and get rid of long queues, counterfeit stamp paper and all other hassles.
The citizens can pay all kinds of Stamp Duty with Axis Bank except:
