It is a prepaid card which can be loaded with Foreign Currency. Travel Currency Card acts as a replacement to Cash & travellers cheque
The Axis Bank Travel Currency Card is available in US,Australian, Canadian, Singapore Dollars, Euros, Sterling Pounds, Swiss Francs and Swedish Kroner currencies on VISA platform. The US Dollar, Strling Pound, Euors, Dirham & Saudi Riyal variants are available on MasterCard platform. You can use the Travel Currency Card in any country where VISA / MasterCard has acceptance. You can take any of the above card and travel to any country and still transact in local currency. The transaction in local currency is processed after applying the cross currency charges, as applicable at the time of the transaction. Your card account will be debited in the equivalent of the base currency loaded by you.
You don't need an account relationship with Axis Bank to purchase Axis Bank Travel Currency Card. Simply walk into any Axis Bank Branch or the office of select Full Fledged Money Changers and purchase an Axis Bank Travel Currency Card over the counter.
This card is an 'across the shelf' product and can be bought even on the day of travel, subject to the funds being provided the same day.
You can use the card only for checking the balance and changing the PIN at Axis Bank ATMs. No financial transactions are allowed in India, Nepal & Bhutan, under FEMA guidelines.

In Same Currency: Each individual will be entitled to purchase one card of each currency. However, an individual cannot hold more than a single card of the same currency at any given point of time.
No. As stated above if you are travelling to more than one country on a single trip, then the Bank can issue more than one card to you, albeit in different currencies, within the overall RBI approved limits for the trip. You are advised to commence the usage of the card only after a couple of hours. You are also advised to ensure that you have received the PIN and sign on the signature panel at the back of the card. It is also advisable to change the PIN and check the Balance on the card at any Axis Bank ATM before your departure from the country.
You would receive an SMS confirmation as soon as your card is loaded/reloaded. It is advisable to check the Balance on the card at any Axis Bank ATM before your departure from the country. You can also check your balance on our website using the login id and password provided for internet banking.
The usage of your Travel Currency Card should be in strict accordance with the regulations of the Reserve Bank of India and FEMA regulations. The amount loaded or reloaded on a card should be done as per the foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 and prevailing RBI regulations in force at present.
Yes, the Axis Bank Travel Card can be swiped directly for payments at Merchant establishments that accept VISA/VISA Electron/MasterCard.
No, there is no transaction fee incurred for swiping your Travel Card for payments at a Merchant Establishments.
The PIN is not required to process transactions done through swiping your card at Merchant establishments. Do not Share your PIN even if requested.
Authorization for such a transaction is done by your signature on the sales slip that is generated on payment. The signature on the sales slip must match the one on the Travel Card for a valid transaction.
There is a daily limit of $10000 for purchases at a Merchant establishment and a daily limit of $5000 or equivalent for cash withdrawal from ATM
To withdraw cash, you would need to insert your card into any Visa /Visa Plus / Mastercard ATM machine overseas and follow the instructions on screen. Enter your PIN and indicate the amount you want to withdraw in the local currency. The requisitioned cash will be dispensed in the local currency of the country you are in.
Your PIN(Personal Identification Number)
is a unique 4 digit secure number assigned to your card and known only to you. It allows you to withdraw cash from VISA/ VISA Plus / Mastercard ATMs worldwide. This PIN can be changed (only) at any Axis Bank ATM in India.
All ATMs overseas displaying the Visa/Mastercard or Plus symbol will accept your Axis Bank Travel Currency Card.

It may please be noted that there are certain countries where, either the VISA or MasterCard has withdrawn support or there is no presence of VISA or MasterCard infrastructure. Thus, there will be no acceptability of our Travel Currency Card in such countries.

The banks in U.S. are given right by the local federal laws to charge Surcharge/fees from other bank customer's accessing their ATM to withdraw money. Many ATMS in US do levy charges for withdrawing from their ATM over and above the charges mentioned above.
Most of the ATMs have the capability of displaying the amount withdrawn and balance available in the local currency.
Generally, the options available at the ATM for cash withdrawal are "Checking", "Credit", and "Savings". You should choose the "Checking/Current" option. In case the Checking/Current option is not available, you should select the "Credit" option. The Savings option does not link to the VISA network and hence the transaction would not be successful.
The Card gets blocked for use at ATMs, if the card has been used with the wrong ATM PIN more than 3 times. This is for your own security and to prevent any fraudulent use on the card. If you have forgotten your PIN, you may write to

English is available at most Visa/Master ATMs. Some ATMs are also multi-lingual. However, if you require assistance, you can call the Visa GCAS/MasterCard Global Service numbers enumerated in the user guide as well as detailed below.
This is a paid service provided by VISA . Axis Bank Travel Currency Cardholders can receive assistance from VISA Global Customer Assistance Service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. GCAS can be used for lost/stolen card reporting, emergency cash assistance, emergency card replacement or miscellaneous information that the customer may require overseas.

Yes, the Travel Currency Card can be used to transact(Cash withdrawal at ATMs and point of sale transactions at Merchant Outlets)in any local currency. For transactions in any other currency other than the base currency, there will be an exchange rate which will be applicable. In addition to the exchange rate cross currency charges would be applicable.Click here for fees and charges.
If the transaction is done in base currency(currency in which the card was purchased), there is no exchange rate applicable. However, for transactions other than the base currency, exchange rates / conversion rates from the base currency to the local currency would be applicable as per fine rates applied by Visa/Mastercard . Currency conversion is done automatically in an international online environment by VISA/Mastercard.
The Telephones or petrol pumps generally debit US$ 1 equivalent at the time of card insertion. The total amount debited is inclusive of this US $1, which will be reflected as 2 different entries in the system.
You can use the card to pay your Hotel bills at the time of check-out. However, please avoid using your card for checking-in (pre-authorization) at hotels. If you choose to use your card at the time of check in, the funds on your card will be blocked till such time that the bills is finally settled. To prevent blocking of funds please make sure that all the test swipes are cancelled.
If you have already settled your bill through other mode, please request the Hotel to send a scanned copy of the Authorization Cancellation letter on the letterhead of the hotels settlement Bank or on the hotels letterhead to us via E-mail. Further, the hotel should state that you have settled this bill through some other mode and they don't need the authorization taken any more.
If you have already checked out from the hotel and unable to provide the letter, you may provide us with the copy of the final paid bill which contains the check-in and check-out dates & mode of payment.
If the Hotel claims that the transaction was declined at their end then you should request the Hotel to send us scanned copy of the letter through email stating that you have settled this bill through some other mode and they will not be raising any claims against your card from us.

Incase you have exhausted the funds on the card; you can reload your card with additional funds. The easiest way to do this is to contact the Axis Bank Branch where you bought it from.
Yes! You may leave a signed copy of the reload Form and authorization with your family. Your family member can approach Axis Bank Branch with the Reload form. On submission of the documents and receipt of the payment, the Travel Card would be reloaded.
The easiest way to cash out your card, if you don't want to reload it for your next trip, is to go to the nearest Axis Bank branch and get the remaining amount encashed.
The Card can be encashed only after your return to India. Furthermore, the last transaction done on the card should be more than 10 days prior to the date of encashment. For refund of the residual or unutilized balances you can approach any of the branch of the Bank irrespective of where the card was issued. You need to complete the refund form and submit a copy of your passport alongwith the form.
In case you want to encash the entire unspent amount on the card, you need to cut the card into 4 pieces at the time of surrender. However if you wish to retain the card for further trips, you can do so by encashing the partial amount and maintaining a minimum balance of USD 20; EUR 15; GBP 10; AUD 25, CAD 25; SGD 30; CHF 25 and SEK 130. Please note that if the balance on the card is more than $ 2000 then the card should be encashed within 90 days from the date of arrival.

to report a lost or stolen card. Our Customer Service Executives will immediately block the lost card and prevent it from further use and arrange to send you a replacement card within 2 working days. It is important to note that a lost Card report will be taken only after verification of your Mother's maiden name, Date of Birth, Passport no etc.
In comparison, Axis Bank Travel Currency Card exchange rates are definitely more favorable. The customer can be rest assured that the rate will be much finer than what is given to a retail customer by a Money Changer/ Forex bureau. One can do away with exorbitant service charges levied and unfavorable rates offered while encashing notes and traveler cheques overseas.
You can access the Internet banking module, iConnect for keeping a track of your balances and the transactions done on your card. The Internet banking user id is mentioned on the sticker placed on the welcome kit. The password is enclosed in the welcome kit in a sealed envelope for security reasons. If your Travel Currency Card has expired before all funds have been utilised, you can contact any Axis Bank branch for refund of the un-utilised balance, or apply for replacement card to continue to access the remaining funds for payment through the card in future.
In certain countries, the acquiring banks may choose to activate the feature of "Dynamic Currency Conversion" on their ATMs and POS Machine network. As per this facility, the ATM/POS machine identifies the Travel Currency Card as a card issued from a foreign country and prompts the customer to transact in their "home currency"(in case of Indians, this would be Indian Rupees). If a customer selects the "home currency/INR" option, the same transaction will be declined thereby saving the additional cross-currency charges which are levied by the acquiring bank
(the bank that runs the ATM/POS machine).
We urge you to note that as the Travel Currency Card is purchased and loaded with the purpose of using the card in the respective foreign currency, the customer must avoid selecting any option that prompts for a change in usage currency to avoid any adverse exchange rate.
The "dynamic currency conversion" feature may appear with differing terminology depending on the overseas bank.
Axis Bank is not responsible for any "dynamic currency conversion" related charges and will not be able to refund any such charges in case they are levied on account of wrong usage of card.
Usage of the Travel Currency Card needs to be in accordance with the Exchange Control Regulation of Reserve Bank of India and the applicable laws in force from time to time, in particular and without information, the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999.
Also, note that the card is not to be used for margin payments being made for online forex trading transactions.
The SMS alert facility does not start automatically. You shall be prompted to opt for the SMS alert facility at the time of procuring the Travel Card. You can avail the facility by signing the SMS registration form along with the Travel Card form.

In case of an international mobile number, the service is chargeable at a nominal USD 1(or equivalent) per month. In case the customer activates the feature on an Indian mobile number, the service is free.
