Six Cars to look out for in 2020

5 MinsJanuary 19, 2020

The car industry is all set for a bumper year in terms of new car launches in 2020. With the more stringent new Bharat VI emission norms coming into force on April 1, 2020, customers can look forward to new models that are more energy-efficient and less polluting. This is welcome news for both manufacturers and customers after 2019 saw lower sales. According to car industry experts, customers aware of the new norms were unwilling to buy automobiles conforming to the older Bharat V norms and generally preferred to sit out 2019. The reason is that the resale value of vehicles adhering to the Bharat V norms was likely to fall sharply after the new Bharat VI standards became operational.

With 2020 around the corner, it seems most carmakers have kept their powder dry and weapons ready in the battle for market supremacy. Most automobile companies are poised to launch new models or upgraded versions of their old bestsellers. It is estimated that the year could well see anywhere from 70-100 new car launches, making it a blockbuster in terms of new car launches.
