Sumit Bali is the Group Executive and Head – Retail Lending Axis Bank. Sumit is a veteran in the banking industry with almost 3 decades of rich experience in Retail Banking. He was associated with Kotak
Mahindra Bank for last 24 years, wherein he worked in multiple roles across Retail Lending. In his last role with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Sumit was overseeing the entire Retail Assets business including Home Loans, Loan against property
(LAP), Personal Loans, SME Loans & Credit Cards.
Sumit was also the Chief Executive Officer of Kotak Mahindra Prime Ltd. As part of Kotak Bank's Leadership Team he was involved in integration of ING Vysya Bank post the merger.
Prior joining Axis Bank, he was working with IIFL Finance where he was driving the company's growth agenda as the Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer across the entire IIFL NBFC group.
Sumit holds a graduate degree in BA (Hon) Maths from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi & has completed his PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad.
