Government e-Marketplace is a one-stop solution for procurement of goods and services required by various government departments/organisations, PSUs and States/Union Territories. It aims to enhance transparency, efficiency and speed in public procurement. It also aims to provide the tools of e-bidding, reverse e-auction and demand aggregation to facilitate the government users achieve the best value for their money.

All Non-PFMS agencies/entities can register on GeM portal for procurement through GeM pool Account (GPA) method.
Yes, as per OM (Office Memorandum) shared by Ministry of Finance dated 14th August, 2018, GPA can be either Savings/Current Account.
GPA enabled bank refers to those banks that have signed MoU with GeM for account opening.
There are two business model available on GeM portal- Challan and Non-challan Modes.
For each procurement a new dynamic virtual account (beneficiary account) is generated for procurement purpose.
Client can do a lump sum funding in the virtual account (beneficiary account) which is generated once for each DDO (Drawing and Disbursing Officer)
Yes, business model can be changed for a client.
Confirmation mail from the client is required for changing the business model.
The Virtual Account can be funded using one of the three modes- RTGS/NEFT/IMPS.
No, you cannot fund the GPA directly. You need to fund VAN (Virtual Account Number) created for procurement purpose. Funds available in GPA cannot be utilised.
Any Proprietor, Partnership, Limited Liability Partnership, Company, Trust or Society can register on GeM as a seller.
In order to participate in bids, seller is required to open a caution money account on GeM and deposit money into the accounts.
